The Living Detroit Series was created by Aquarius Press in 2007 to chronicle Detroit, past and present.Our first book was Eyes on Fire: Witnesses to the Detroit Riot of 1967 (2007), an essay anthology of first-hand accounts that is still a bestseller. Our second project was a poetry collection by John Jeffire, Stone+Fist+Brick+Bone, a powerful, yet beautiful collection on one man's loves and losses while living in metro Detroit.
In light of the economic downturn in the city, Detroit is at a crossroads in terms of survival--will it be a glorious resurgence or total demise? As a publisher forever linked with Detroit, Aquarius Press has selected Feasting at the Table of the Damned (2011) by Daniel Ames to renew our mission in this new decade.
